Nila Nannette Turner Shelton

Mrs. Nila Nannette Turner Shelton, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 20, 1934 in Forsyth County to Archie and Fayne Hester Turner. Mrs. Shelton attended Green Street United Methodist Church, and worked at the Winston-Salem Journal for a number of years. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buford Shelton; a daughter, Neena Mabe; and two grandchildren, Justin and Jessica. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Shelton-Millsaps (Dennis) and Terrie Speaks (Rick); five grandchildren, Joey, Shana, Sonya, Kate and Chris. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at Green Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kelly Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
