Nellie Gunnell Lawson

KERNERSVILLE - Nellie Gunnell Lawson, 91, a loving, caring mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, October 15, 2008. She was born September 3, 1917 in Patrick Co., Virginia to the late Dixie and Alice Greenwood Gunnell. Mrs. Lawson formerly resided on Adams St. in Kernersville. She retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 33 years of employment. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Hester Lawson. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Lawson Emerson of Kernersville, and Beatrice Lawson Stanley of Walkertown; three grandchildren, Penny Hill of High Point, Pam Norris of TN, and Donna Bennett of Walkertown; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, and Steven Norris. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with the Rev. Jimmy Money officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2008 at the funeral home.
