Nell Blevins Shore

Nell Blevins Shore of Rural Hall died on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. She was born on March 5th, 1920 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Carrie Adams Blevins and Reverend M. A. Blevins. She was one of seven children. In addition to her parents and brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Shore. She was life-long member of Woodland Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Stephen Montgomery Shore and three grandchildren, Whitney Ann Shore of Atlanta, GA, Sgt. James Colton Shore, Kenan Montgomery Shore and one great-grand daughter, Summer Skye Miller. Nell's enduring Christian faith is her legacy to her family. She only missed services if she was out of town on a fishing trip. Nell continued to surf fish until she was 90 years old and could cast better than most men. She was always eager to bring her catch home, not to eat but to show off to her fellow fishermen at church. She was a true original in everything she did and will be deeply missed by her family. The family will receive friends at Hayworth - Miller Funeral Home, Rural Hall on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8 p. m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Hayworth- Miller Funeral Home, Rural Hall on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
