Nell Eliza Mickey Mayberry

Mrs. Nell Eliza Mickey Mayberry, 89, of Winston-Salem, completed her journey here on earth on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Prior to Hospice care, she was a resident of Salemtowne where she thrived due to the wonderful care she received. She was born January 16, 1922 in Surry County to Elbert Samuel and Augusta Combs Mickey. Mrs. Mayberry was a member of Olivet Moravian Church. She loved her church and reading the Bible. She left her early career in nursing as she became a wife and mother, always putting others first and always giving her time and talents to keeping other children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Frank Mayberry; two sisters, Helen Thomas and Alleen Needham; a brother, Ray Mickey; son-in-law, Neal Snyder; and two infant siblings. The gift of a wonderful wife and most loving mother, she is survived by Mickey Mayberry and David Mayberry (Sandy), all of South Carolina, and Doris M. Snyder of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Joshua Snyder, Lane and James Mayberry. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30th at Olivet Moravian Church with the Rev. Douglas Rights and Chaplain Randy Hillman officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
