Nell Mustin Coley, 92, of Winston-Salem passed into heaven on September 15, 2010 at Arbor Acres. Mrs. Coley was born September 16, 1917 to the late Sam and Minnie Pegram Mustin. She was a loving, devoted mother, wife and friend. Her warm smile and appreciation of life's simple pleasures will always be remembered by those privileged to have known her. She enjoyed employment for many years with several retail establishments in the Winston-Salem area. She continued a 40 hour work schedule until age 77. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Faith United Methodist Church, formerly Ogburn Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lorain Coley; a brother, Howard Mustin and wife Willie; a sister, Ruby Foltz and husband Al; and a son-in-law, Ralph Warren. She is survived by two daughters, Billie Sue Coley Warren of Kernersville and a special friend, Don Chamberlain of Advance, and Christine Coley of Raleigh; one son, Ed Coley and wife Karen of Bermuda Run; three grandchildren, Kathy Brannock and husband Randy of East Bend, Heather Gorman and husband Pat of Greensboro, and Eris Ball and husband Robert of Elkin; five great grandchildren, Travis Brannock and wife Keisha, Jessica Brannock, all of Boone, Connor and Lilly Gorman, and Cama Ball; a special niece, Peggy Ketner, and several other nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Coley's life will be conducted at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 with the Rev. Drew Southern officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Brighton Gardens, Bradford Village, Arbor Acres, Hospice, and Dr. John Porter for their loving care for the past several years.
