Nell Lee Burton

Mrs. Nell Lee Phelps Burton, age 79 of Advance, Passed away Saturday August 23, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 1, 1935 in Davie County to the late Willie and Addie Beauchamp Phelps. Mrs. Burton was a member of Mocks United Methodist Church and had retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ronald Gray Burton; two granddaughters, Addie Beth Shore and Sarah Elizabeth Miller; one sister, Lucy Phelps and one brother, John Phelps. Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Miller (Rick), Donna Tkach (Albert) and one son, Brent Burton (Terri) all of Advance; six grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, Brandy, Brad, Ben and Sterling; four great grandchildren, Ali, Mia, Luke and Molly and two sisters, Susie Anderson and Maxine Baily (Bob). A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Mocks United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill Taylor. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
