Nelda Beauchamp Sofley

Mrs. Nelda Beauchamp Sofley, 84, of Advance, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Springwood Care Nursing Center. She was born July 5, 1926 in Davie County to the late Joel E. and Neila Smith Beauchamp. Mrs. Sofley was a faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where she served in many ways. She was very active with the church newsletter, many suppers at the church and served on various committees. After retirement from Hanes Hosiery, she enjoyed working in her yard planting beautiful flowers that will always be remembered. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert George Sofley in 2008. Surviving are her sister, Betty Potts of Winston-Salem, formerly of Advance; her neighbor, April Newman (Jeff) of Advance and their children, Samuel, Elisabeth and Hannah. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery.
