Ned Corzine Skidmore

Ned Corzine Skidmore Sr. ""Skid"", age 79, from Winston-Salem, NC went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord our Father on February 15, 2016. Born to Robert and Robbie Skidmore on March 13, 1936. Married to the love of his life and high school sweetheart Annie Ruth Mahaffey Skidmore since 1960.
Skid was a graduate of Griffith High School, Gaston Technical College and served in the U.S. Army for four years. After 16 years with the city of Winston-Salem and retirement from Shugart Enterprises, his Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering allowed him to continue helping others in the field he so dearly loved. As he has been a member of Advent Moravian Church since the age of 17, his unwavering faith and dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ has been proven through his love of song and membership in the church choir for decades. His guidance and contributions to important decisions concerning stability and growth within the church will be greatly missed. His passions included family, golf, and friends. His love for all children was evident as his many years at South Little League brought him more joy than can be expressed and being a coach was his favorite part. In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Skidmore. He is survived by his wife Annie Ruth, 3 children: Terri Davis (Mark), Tracy Doub (Kevin), and Ned Corzine Skidmore Jr. ""Cory"" (Leah), 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Daylyn, Carson, Cory, Ryan, and Rylee. 2 sisters: Sue Brindle and Anne Krites along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 19th, 2016 from 6 to 8pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The service and burial will be at Advent Moravian Church on Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at 2pm with Reverends Tim Sapp and James Demby officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the memory of Ned Skidmore Sr. to the Handicap Parking Lot Fund at Advent Moravian Church, 1514 W Clemmonsville Road, Winston Salem, NC 27127.
