Neal Stone Gordon, Sr.

Mr. Neal Stone Gordon, Sr.,""Pop"" 60, of Advance passed away October 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1950 in Forsyth County to Donnie Stone Gordon and Zena Alda Norman. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Gordon founded Gordon and Sons Fine Grading Inc. in 1996. He was a Man's Man who put his family first. Neal loved to spend time hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. Another of his passions in life was beekeeping, which he pursued avidly. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty years, Linda Rathbone Gordon of the home; two sons; Neal Gordon, Jr. and wife, Shana of Advance, Jeremy Gordon and wife, Jennifer also of Advance; three grandchildren; Nathan, Stephen and Cameron Gordon; his mother, Zena Alda Norman Gordon of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Cina Fero of Spartanburg, SC, Sharon Collins of King, NC and two brothers; Wayne Gordon of Charlotte, NC and Norman Gordon of Blountville, TN. The Family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Monday, October 18 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 19 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Rev. Keith Beckner. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
