Nathan Fred Ellis, 73, died at his home in Kernersville, NC, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
While family and friends mourn his death, they are thankful for having known and loved him. Nathan was a soft-hearted, retired auto mechanic and US Army veteran who served in Vietnam and relished helping people and animals in need. He loved learning about military history and spending time with his friends, family, and five dogs: Maryanne, Rocky, Ruger, Stella, and Abe.
Nathan always wished to experience Alaska but was limited to just a stopover in Anchorage on his way to Vietnam. To honor this wish, his cremains will be taken to Alaska where his daughter and her family live.
Nathan is survived by his daughter, Sara Ellis-Sanborn (Tom Sanborn); grandchildren James, Jack, and Bella Sanborn; sisters Maxine Handy, Kay Linville, and Ann Ellis-Hill; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Those who wish to honor Nathan are asked to donate in his memory to animal or veteran causes.
