Nathan Todd Cardwell

Nathan Todd Cardwell, 61, passed away on Wednesday, March 05, 2025, at 6:52 a.m. at Novant Health with his family by his side.

He is a retired Missionary. He volunteered as a Missionary in Zimbabwe, Africa and South Africa for Freedom Crusade Ministries touching many lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good cup of coffee, talking with his family and friends, debating on social media, tinkering with computers, and watching Andy Griffith. He loved learning and was an avid reader. He was born to the late, Denver Leonzo Cardwell & Marye Lee Mickle Cardwell Russell on October 27, 1963, in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Todd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Nathan (Casandra) Martin and Nicole (Steven) Starling; his four grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Angela) McGee of Winston-Salem; sisters, Ivi Anne Cardwell of Rural Hall, and April (Robin) Newman of Stoneville; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Officiating will be his brother, Evangelist Jerry McGee, guest speakers, Evangelist Carl Brooks and Rev. Jack Campbell. Interment will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00pm.
