Lewisville - Mrs. Naomi Beauchamp Norman, 93, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at home. She was born January 12, 1922, one of nine siblings born to Sallie Phelps Beauchamp and John Steve Beauchamp. She lived her life in Lewisville and Clemmons, NC, and graduated from Lewisville School. She met and married the love of her life, the late Joshua William (Bill) Norman in 1942 prior to his leaving to go overseas in WWII. They were married for 59 years. During World War II, Naomi worked for a short period, but when her husband returned from the war, her life was centered on her family. She loved the outdoors and many family vacations were spent camping or fishing. She enjoyed working in the garden, raising flowers and enjoying the beauty of God's creation as she and Bill would ride around the countryside on weekends. She also delighted in watching and feeding the birds. Later in life, she and Bill enjoyed many good times and friends as members of the Good Sam Club. Naomi was involved with the ECA Home Extension Club for 30 years and she enjoyed sewing, crafting and quilting. Most of all she cherished her family; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren as well as her great-grandchildren. She served God and was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church from her infancy and was a member of the UMW for over half a century. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Carol Albert Foy; great-granddaughter, Sasha Lynne Johnson; sister Lucy Spaugh and husband Conrad; brother Odell Beauchamp; and brother-in-law Archie Norman. She is survived by her three children, June Witty (James), Billie Albert (Rev. Thomas) and David Norman (Jane); four grandchildren, Shannon Williams (Mike), Mandy Bennett (Kevin), Sara Dralle (Gregg), and Josh Norman and his special friend, Stella May; and one grandson-in-law, Will Foy (Jenn); five great grandchildren, Xander and Jonas Williams, Claira Johnson, and Anna and Parker Dralle; six siblings, Ruth Norman, Walter Beauchamp (Modell), Clarence Beauchamp (Jean), Bernice Mabe (Conrad), Allen Beauchamp (Elaine) and Mike Beauchamp (Miriam); and one sister-in-law, Donna Beauchamp Cheek. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Sharon United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Freeman and Rev. Thomas Albert officiating. There will be a visitation in the common room of the church from 1:00-2:00 PM.
