Mrs. Nannie Hawkins Moreau, 94, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Britthaven of Davidson County. She was born May 9, 1914 in Grayson Co., VA to the late Bluford and Alice Ward Hawkins. She was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Women's Air Corp and was retired from Crown Drug after thirty years of service. She is survived by a son, Edwin L. Moreau (Dolly) of Lexington; a daughter, Joyce E. Moreau Willard (Mickey) of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Randy Moreau (Susan) of Wilmington, Terry Moreau (Mischa) of Seoul, Korea, and Jodi Willard Rhodes (James) of Clemmons; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Moreau, Isabelle Moreau, Adam Moreau and Stephenie Holbrook; two nephews, C.O. Taylor and J.C. Hawkins, both of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Jessie Farmer of Independence, Va. and Bonnie Baker of Mocksville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Saddle Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Independence, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
