Nancy Poore

Nancy Jean Wooten Poore, 89, graduated to her heavenly home on January 28, 2021 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. She was born on October 24, 1931 to Marvin A. Wooten and Mary Harbin Holland Wooten in Iredell County. Nancy was a longtime member of Pinedale Christian Church. In her younger years, she served in the nursery, missions committee, and taught first grade Sunday School. Nancy enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and tending her flowers. More than anything she loved spending time with family. Nancy will be remembered for her quiet nature and sweet spirit. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Poore; brother, Jack Wooten; and sister, Gertrude Zachary. Surviving are her sons, Jason Poore (Laura), and Jonathan Poore; grandchildren, Jill Bennett (Mike), and Steve Timmons (Mimi); great grandchildren, Logan Bennett, Livy and Joshua Timmons; sister, Evelyn Webb; and brother, Bobby Wooten (Agnes); and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Pinedale Christian Church with Rev. Bob McCaskill and Pastor Bill McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinedale Christian Church, 3395 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
