Nancy Carolyn Griffin Pettus

Walkertown-Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Griffin Pettus, 71, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 3, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late Lindsay and Mabel Eagleson Griffin. Mrs. Pettus was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Louis ""Buddy"" Pettus. Surviving is her daughter, Janet (John) Cranfill; four grandchildren, Amber (Josh), Whitney, Will, and Carson; one great-grandchild, Dominic; also surviving is a sister, Doris Wood of Walnut Cove. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 14, 2009 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to send a special thanks to Billy Joe and Ann Pettus and Phillip and Donna Loomis for all the love and care they have provided during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
