Nancy Long Myers

Mrs. Nancy Long Myers, 80, passed away March 26, 2015 at Forest Heights Senior Living Community. She was born September 19, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Dewey Roscoe Long and Ollie Fishel Long. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Myers in 1967 and her four brothers, Ed Long, Jim Long, Bill Long, and Knotty Long. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Pitts and her daughter in law, Debbie Myers. Mrs. Myers was a member of Advent Moravian Church. She graduated from Griffith High School, class of 1953. She was employed as a dental assistant and subsequently worked at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, First Assembly Preschool, Forsyth Park Baptist Child Development, and Advent Moravian Church Preschool. Mrs. Myers is survived by her children, Melody Peddycord and husband Steve, Tina Russell and husband Brent, Kurt Myers and wife Nancy, Mark Myers, and Neil Myers; nine grandchildren, Holly Fleming and husband Mike, Kelly Stewart and husband Tommy, Jami Pugh and husband Nick, Michael Peddycord, Matthew Peddycord, Lauren Bost and husband Brandon, Curt Myers, Jordan Myers, and Taylor Myers; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas Fleming, Faith Fleming, Nathan Stewart, Raegan Stewart, Cameron Pugh, and Benjamin Pugh; two sisters-in-law, Dot Long and Donna Long. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Advent Moravian Church with the Rev. Dr. Timothy G. Sapp and Mr. David Berrier officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Mark Maier and his staff, Forest Heights Senior Living, and the staff of Hospice for their loving care and compassion and Mary Adams, Ann Krites and James Vinson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Advent Moravian Church Preschool, 1514 Clemmonsville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
