Nancy Evans Huffman

Mrs. Huffman died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home following a period of several years of declining health. She was born in Forsyth County to Thomas Lash and Euna Posey Stoltz. She grew up in the Bethania community and graduated from Old Town High School. For many years she lived in the Virginia Beach area where she raised her family and worked as a secretary. Her interests included collecting dolls, watching Shirley Temple movies and sharing stories about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a good cook and could bake delicious pound cakes. When she moved back to North Carolina she joined the Bethania Book Club and maintained membership until she was unable to attend meetings. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James ""Bud"" Stoltz, Sr. and Charles ""Babe"" Stoltz; and the father of her children, Fritz Elbert Evans, Sr. In 1994, she married William A. ""Bill"" Huffman who survives. Other survivors include her sons, Fritz Evans (Sandy) of Largo, Florida, Thomas R. Evans of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Dawn Evans; grandsons, Stuart and Chris Evans; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Grace Evans of Virginia Beach, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Bethania Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
