Nancy Genevie

Nancy Genevie, 66, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 9, 2013. She was born Sept. 6, 2013 to the late Herbert and Myrtle Schultz Cassidy. Surviving are her husband, David Albert Genevie of Boonville, sister Judy (John) Genevie of Clearwater, FL, brother Dennis (Marcia) Cassidy of Jupiter, FL, brother John (Pat) Genevie of Centereach, NY, son Daniel (Lori) Genevie of Yadkinville, daughter Donna (Jody) Papalia of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Denise (Todd) Censon of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren Luke and Ben Genevie, Nicholas, Savannah, Julius and Giovanni Papalia and Caleb Censon, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and special friends Mark and Tiffany Poteat and ""honorary"" grandchildren Jackson and Sophia Poteat of Morganton, NC. Nancy was a faithful daughter of the Most High King Jesus. She led an obedient, surrendered life to Him. She was a true servant, always putting others' needs ahead of her own. She was a loyal and loving wife for 45 years. She was the best mother anyone could ever ask or hope for. She gave openly and tirelessly of herself. She had a great sense of humor and could make us laugh until we cried. She poured her devotion to the Lord into many activities, including serving with the Episcopal Church Women of Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church in Elkin, NC and the Women in Mission of St. John's Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She sacrificed much time and energy in helping others and constantly looked for ways to do more. She will be deeply missed by her family and multitude of friends. The family would like to thank our faithful prayer warriors who have uplifted us all during Nancy's illness. We also appreciate the loving care and support of the staff of 9th floor West at Forsyth Medical Center and the Emergency Room personnel and volunteers. Public visitation will be held on Monday, May 13 at Hayworth-Miller (Silas Creek) from 4-6pm. The funeral service will also be on Monday, May 13 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem at 7pm.
