Nancy Dyson Essick

Clemmons-Nancy Dyson Essick, 82, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Brian Center in Lexington. She was born February 19, 1929 in North Wilkesboro to the late Culvery S. and Ila Gant Dyson. Mrs. Essick was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Thomasville Furniture Co. with several years of service. She loved working in her garden and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Essick; brother, Bruce Dyson and a sister, Jackie Eldrige. Surviving are a son, Bobby Essick; two daughters, Marjorie Essick and Terrylee Speer and husband, John; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Dyson and Harold Dyson and a sister, Genevie Butcher. A service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bill Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
