Nancy Elizabeth Evans Liipfert, 86, of Rocky Mount, NC, passed away on November 18, 2023. She was born on December 12, 1936, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to John May Evans and Elizabeth Corbett Evans, and reared in Nashville, NC. Nancy was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family meant the world to her.
As a child, Nancy grew up in Nashville, North Carolina, where she was loved by her parents and had the opportunity to explore the world. Some of her fondest memories included riding her pony, studying music, attending a music summer camp in the Adirondacks, and remembering her time spent in Europe while studying abroad in Geneva, Switzerland.
Education played a significant role in Nancy's life. She attended Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and later pursued her studies at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, earning a B.A. in Music and French.
Nancy's passion for real estate led her to become a Realtor in the 70s. She soon started her own firm, Nancy Liipfert Associates, Inc., in Rocky Mount, which quickly became one of the most successful firms in the area. Nancy continued to run her business until she was 79, leaving behind a remarkable legacy.
Nancy was an accomplished organist and pianist, finding joy in playing both instruments. Her talent and passion for music brought happiness to those around her.
Nancy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where she found solace and community. Her faith was an important aspect of her life.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her loved ones. Her late husband, Bailey Liipfert Jr., the love of her life, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, John Michael Evans and his wife, Pam; her son, Bailey Liipfert III, and his wife, Theresa; her daughter, Catherine Liipfert; her grandchildren: Nicholas Carrier, Caroline Carrier, Tucker Carrier, Hunter Carrier, Stephen M. Greene, Nina E. Liipfert, and her granddaughter by love, Allison Moore, who lovingly cared for her.
Memorial services to honor Nancy's life are being planned to be held in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Contributions in her memory can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, or Lutheran Services of the Carolinas.
The Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem is assisting the family with the arrangements. A memorial service shall be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, Rocky Mount, North Carolina and officiated by Rev. Tom Farmer.
