Mrs. Nancy Irene Stafford Carter, 62, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth County on February 18, 1949 to the late Woodrow and Edith Stafford. Mrs. Carter was retired from Sears and was a member of Rural Hall Moravian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Cater is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ronald Darius Carter of the home, a son, Clyde Darius Carter and wife Mirta of King, her grandson and the light of her life, Paul Carter, five sisters, Inez George of Asheboro, Becky Burgess of Mocksville, Carolyn Cross of Lexington, Shirley King of Winston-Salem and Rachel Davis of Winston-Salem, one brother, David Stafford of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Rural Hall Moravian Church with Rev. Steve Craver officiating. Burial will follow in Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
