Nancy Swaringen Bluhm

Mrs. Nancy Swaringen Bluhm, 70, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 14, 1940 in Albemarle to Paul and Irene Shuping Swaringen. Mrs. Bluhm was retired from First Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of Fairview Moravian Church where she sang in the choir many years and was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She was also an active member of the Extension and Community Association (ECA). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Hubert, J.P., Leroy, Luther, and Warren; and one sister, Kathy. Surviving is her husband, Herbert J. Bluhm; two sons, Brian Bluhm of Los Alamos, NM, and Kevin Bluhm of the home; two grandchildren, Claire Bluhm and Gavin Bluhm, both of Los Alamos, NM; two sisters, Ann Brown (Gordon) of Albemarle and Susie Lowder (Brady) of Elon; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21st at Fairview Moravian Church with the Rev. Scott Venable officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 20th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
