N. Stuart Jones, 78, died Wednesday, March 23rd at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Winston-Salem on June 13th, 1932 to the late Margaret Painter and William Graham Jones. He attended RJ Reynolds High School and UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduation, he served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy on the Admiral's Staff in the South Pacific until 1955. After leaving the Navy, he worked at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, engaged in the research and development of missile and space systems. He later worked for Machinery & Allied Products Institute in Washington, DC and Research Triangle Institute in North Carolina. After retirement, he continued to pursue his twin passions of writing and hiking in the mountains. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Munro, Fred, Katherine Darr and Graham. Survivors include his son, Keith of Hockessin, DE and sister, Margaret ""Boots"" Ogburn of Winston-Salem, as well as many members of his extended family. A private interment will be held Saturday, April 2 in Winston-Salem. A gathering of family and friends will be held at noon, April 2 in Pinnacle, NC. In
