Myrtle Alridge Sapp, 98, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Oak Forest Health and Rehab. She was born September 1, 1910 in Forsyth County to the late William C. and Lucy Hodges Alridge. She was a charter member at Covenant Presbyterian Church and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 29 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She lived her life in service and duty to her family. Surviving is a son, Joe Sapp and wife Earlene and a daughter, Shirley Hay and husband Jim; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; also surviving is a sister, Betty Jean Baker of Raleigh. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kevin Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church 3627 Konnoak Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
