Myrtle Harrison

Mrs. Myrtle Melissa McGee Harrison, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, December 10, 2020.  She was born January 2, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late Ulysses Grover McGee and Susanna Melissa Pettus McGee.  Mrs. Harrison was a Godly woman.  She was a long-time member of Union Tabernacle Church.  Growing up Myrtle went to Mt. Olive Methodist Church where she gained her love for gospel music by singing in the church choir.  She was a homemaker her entire life and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harrison is preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Harrison, Sr.  She is survived by five children: John Harrison, Jr. (Teran), Judy Faison, Joy Tuggle (Robert), Debbie Justice, and Darleen Harrison; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  A private family service will be conducted with Pastor Danny Smith officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, 2150 NC-65, Reidsville, NC 27320.
