Myrtle Bowman

Mrs. Myrtle Alice Boyd Bowman, age 92, was surrounded by her family when she passed away, January 20, 2022.  She was born October 4, 1929, in Patrick County Virginia to the late Samuel Foster Boyd and Josie Hooker Boyd.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Bowman; four sisters, Cassie Bondurant, Lane Lawson, Frances Boles, and Linda Beck; three brothers, Jim Boyd, John Boyd, and Garland Boyd.  She is survived by four sons, Junior Bowman (Teresa), Danny Bowman (Lynne), Kenneth Bowman (Phyllis), and Mark Bowman ( Jennifer); eight grandchildren, Melissa Bowman Xochipa (Miguel), Steve Bowman, Chad Bowman (Ana), Bradley Bowman, Amanda Tolley (Kevin), Sarah Hylton (Derek), India Bowman, and Angie Trimmel; 8 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Gavin, Lilly, Levi, Ashley, Matthew, Reuben, and Sophia.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 Monday, January 24, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Paster Danny Poindexter Officiating.  Interment will follow at Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.  The family would like to express their gratitude for the care the staff gave Myrtle during her stay at Universal Health Care.  Donations may be made at Trellis Supportive care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
