Myra Willard

KERNERSVILLE - Myra Estes Willard, 67, entered her forever home in heaven on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Myra was born on April 12, 1950 in Dyersburg, TN to Edward Wynn and Edith Hopper Estes. Myra grew up in West Memphis, Arkansas where she fell in love with Elvis Presley. Since Elvis was already married, she married Mike Willard on August 11, 1973. As a pastor's wife, she ministered in numerous churches: Vevay Baptist Church in Vevay, IN; Signal Mountain Baptist Church in Signal Mountain, TN; Calvary Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, NC; Griffith Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC; Main Street Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC and First Baptist Church, in Pilot Mountain, NC. Her primary ministry involved raising her daughters, Melissa and Megan. Myra considered her granddaughter, Madalyn, as God's reward for not killing her daughters͟! Obviously she had a wonderful sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Edith Estes; and her younger brother, Mike Estes. Myra is survived by her husband, Mike Willard; two daughters, Melissa Edwards (Neil) and Megan Sargalis (Matt); and one granddaughter, Madalyn Edwards. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Mike Gianopulos and Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Instead of flowers, Myra wanted her friends to make a donation to their own church or Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
