Myra Thrasher

HIGH POINT – Myra Lynn Rink Thrasher, 77, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Brookdale High Point North Memory Care. Myra was born on September 26, 1943 in Lincoln County, NC to James Charlie and Maudella Cooke Rink. Myra’s love of music started at an early age and became a ministry that touched the lives of many. She served as Organist, Pianist, Adult and Youth Choir Director and Handbell Choir Director. She directed and hosted many music programs throughout her career, retiring from Parkway Baptist Church in Greensboro with over 25 years of service as their Music Director.

In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her husband, David William Thrasher.

Surviving are her son, James Thrasher (wife, Elesha); daughter, Kimberly Dennings (husband, Mark); four grandchildren, Jaden and Rylan Thrasher, Ethan and Keira Dennings; sister, Cathy Harris (husband, Jerry); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Jon Boling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
