Ms. Willie Alma Poff

POFF Pfafftown - Ms. Willie Alma Poff, 90, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at Oak Forest. She was born December 7, 1918 in McDowell County, WV to the late William Auburn Childress and Blanche Ring Childress. Ms. Poff was a member of Christ Temple Church in Winston-Salem and the last surviving sibling of her family. In addition to her parents, Ms. Poff was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edward Poff; one daughter, Rita Gay Dooley; two sisters; and two brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley (Julian) Dunford; one son, Mark (Lynette) Poff; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M. this evening, Saturday, February 28 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Bob Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 1 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Oak Forest for the loving care given to Ms. Poff during her stay.
