Ms. Lucile Wishon Loggins Swain

Ms. Lucile Wishon Loggins Swain, 95, a resident of Clemmons Village II, Clemmons, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She was born in Forsyth County on November 18, 1916 to the late Houston C. Wishon and the late Kisa Davis Wishon (Arnold). She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, James H. Loggins, Sr. and her second husband, Joe Bill Swain, both of Winston-Salem. Lucile graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1933 where she was very active in sports. She retired from AT&T as a dispatcher after 22 years and was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a charter member of Konnoak Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir and taught Sunday School. She and Jim volunteered together for many years at the NC Baptist Hospital. Survivors include three sons, James H. Loggins, Jr. of Greensboro, Michael Lee Loggins and wife Terri of Winston-Salem, and Stephen Gray Loggins and wife Jeannette of East Bend; one daughter, Rita Loggins Swain Price and husband Phil of Greensboro; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, as well as several step children, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service for the immediate family will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 27 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. John Bishop, Senior Pastor of Konnoak Baptist Church. No visitation is planned. The day of the service, family members will gather at the home of Michael Loggins, 4335 Compton Drive, Winston-Salem from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 225 Davie Ave., Statesville, NC 28677 or to Clemmons Village II, 6401 Holder Road, Clemmons, NC 27012. The family would like to thank the staff at Clemmons Village II and Community Home Care and Hospice for the loving care shown to their mother.
