Mrs. Virginia Hammons Vaughn

Walkertown - Mrs. Virginia Hammons Vaughn passed away March 24, 2011 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove. She was born April 19, 1911 in Forsyth County to the late Franklin Pierce and Amanda Hunter Hammons. Mrs. Vaughn was a faithful member of Love's United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Noble H. Vaughn, Sr., and son, Noble H. Vaughn, Jr. Surviving are her two loving daughters, Norma Vaughn of Walnut Cove, and Camilla Lewellyn and husband David of Greensboro, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Jennings, and Bob Hammons, and one sister, Colleen Whicker. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Love's United Methodist Church in Walkertown, by Rev. Sybil Parks. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall, and at all other times at Camilla's home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Love's United Methodist Church 3020 Main Street Walkertown, NC 27051, or to the Hospice and Palliative CareCenter of Stokes County P.O. Box 863 Walnut Cove, NC 27052. The family would like to thank the staff and residence of Walnut Ridge Assisted Living and the staff of Hospice and Palliative CareCenter of Stokes County for their love and support.
