Mrs. Sallie Jones Idol

Winston Salem - Sallie Victoria Jones Idol, 97, passed away August 13, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1914 to the late Thelma Nelson and Johnny B. Jones. Sallie was the oldest member of Pisgah United Methodist Church, she worked at Hanes Hosiery for 43 years, and loved gardening, visiting with others, and traveling. In addition to her parents Mrs. Idol was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years James Clarence Idol and two sisters, Edythe Eddinger and Mayme Whitt. Surviving are two sisters, Blanche Mock, and Ruth Fishel both of Winston Salem, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2011at Pisgah United Methodist Church by Rev. Harry Sammons and Rev. Harold Shives. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
