Mrs. Kate Safrit Misenheimer

Winston-Salem, NC: Misenheirmer: Mrs. Kate Safrit Misenheimer, a loving mother and grandmother, age 81, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Misenheimer was born November, 10, 1929 in Montgomery County to the late Harvey and Bessie Blake Safrit. Kate was a member of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church and owned and operated Lewisville Sweets for many years with her husband. She loved music and was an organ and piano teacher for several years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Currie Misenheimer, two children; Kathryn and Mary, a brother and a sister. Surviving to cherish her memory, are her daughter; Lynda Helms and husband, Jim of Stuart, VA.; a special grandson; Eric Helms of Stuart, VA, a great-grandson; Mason Carter; two sisters; Mary Perry of Clemmons, NC, Pat Koeval of Advance, NC , a very special son-in-law; Colbert Seagraves and her beloved dog, Susie. The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Ken Eller. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends following in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Harmony Grove United Methodist Church, 5041 Styers Ferry Road, Lewisville, NC 27023 or to Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Misenheimer Family.
