Mrs. Jessie Clara Bowman McKinney

Mrs. Jessie Clara Bowman McKinney, 88, passed away to her Heavenly home on Saturday at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 4, 1922 in Hillsville, VA to Clara Bell and John Daniel Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. McKinney and her son Jerry Wayne McKinney. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Ann Daubenmeyer and husband Hanson of Winston-Salem; her son, John A. McKinney and wife Betty of Clemmons; a brother, Raymond S. Bowman of King; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and retired from Wake Forest University Medical Center after 25 years of service. Mrs. McKinney always went above and beyond for others and gave anything and everything she had to help anyone in need. Mrs. McKinney was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family. She loved each of her children and especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 8:30 pm Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank Ken Johnson for the personal care Mrs. McKinney received and all of the excellent personal care from the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of Forsyth Medical Center.
