Mrs. Jerry Lee Byrd Couch

Mrs. Jerry Byrd Couch, 76, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Yadkin Co. on February 12, 1936 to the late Frank and Mamie Royal Byrd. Mrs. Couch was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. She was of the Baptist faith and an avid Yankees baseball fan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Couch, two sons, David Lee Couch and Danny M. Couch, a daughter, Tina Annette Couch and a sister, Peggy Hemric. She is survived by a daughter, Sandy Flippin and husband James of Westfield, five grandchildren, Wendy Burchette, Amanda Morales, Leigh Mabe, Shana Couch and Shannon Couch, 7 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and sister, Gayle Spicer of Jonesville. Mrs. Couch is also survived by her little dog, Susie. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Couch will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Jason Holley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
