Mrs. Hollis Pilcher Smith

Mrs. Hollis Pilcher Smith, 91, of Advance passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 10, 1921 in Davie County to John Walter and Alice Cornelius Pilcher. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Vergil Smith; two sons, Darrell and Larry Smith and a grandson, Chris Smith. Surviving is a daughter, Kay Foster of Advance; a son, Lane Smith of Advance; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a sister, Polly Wall. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Dr. Barry Lemons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
