Mrs. Exie Mae Helms Broadway Puckett

Mrs. Exie Mae Helms Broadway Puckett passed away Monday, February 27, 2012. She was born February 24, 1928 in Richmond County, NC, to the late James Troy and Dora Alice Little Helms. Mrs. Puckett was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a gifted seamstress, artist, cook and gardener. A very active member of Grace Baptist Temple, Mrs. Puckett sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Puckett; first husband, Willard Roger Broadway; son, Michael Roger Broadway; grandson, Michael Roger Broadway, Jr.; stepson, Ronald W. Puckett; as well as ten brothers and sisters. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Willard Broadway (Linda) of Huntersville; stepdaughter, Dianne P. Ellison (Gary) of Yadkinville; stepsons, Robert H. Puckett, Jr. (Robin) of Kernersville, David F. Puckett (Luann) of Lexington, Richard E. Puckett (Tish) of Mt. Airy, and E. Gary Puckett of Galax, VA; as well as fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 1, at Grace Baptist Temple, with Rev. Ed Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel Wednesday, February 29 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
