Mrs. Betty Lou Messick Wiginton

Mrs. Betty Lou Messick Wiginton, 80 of Glade Valley, NC passed away Friday, December 10, 2010. Ms. Wiginton was born July 4, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late John and Gladys Messick Flynn. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4780 Westchester Road, Winston-Salem and loved working in her garden and making silk flowers arrangements. Mrs Wiginton loved cooking for her family, canning her vegetables and going to the beach. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Charles ""Charlie"" Messick,Sr. and a grandchild. Surviving to cherish her memory, is her loving husband of 21 years, Norman E. Wiginton of the home, four daughters; Jane Kepple of Winston-Salem, Theresa Branscomb and husband, Fred of Salt Lake City, Utah, Marie Simos and husband Terry of Pfafftown, Jamie Bowman and husband Russell of Germanton, NC; three sons; Charles ""Pete"" Curtis Messick, Jr. and wife, Diane, David Messick, Michael ""Mickey""Messick and wife, Angie all of Winston-Salem; four step-children; Teresa Ann Wiginton and husband, Steve of Winston-Salem, Norman E. Wiginton, II and wife, Ann Marie of Winston-Salem, Ronald Wiginton and wife, Norman Jean of King, NC, Troy Lee Wiginton of Walkertown, NC; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and her special cat, Thomas. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday, December 12 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Winston-Salem with the Bishop Richard Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC. Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4780 Westchester Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
