Mrs Barbara Lee Walker Sturms

Mrs. Barbara Lee Walker Sturms, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday January 5, 2012 at Vienna Village. Mrs. Sturms was born July 1, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late Robert H. and Carrie Davis Walker. She was an active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. Her family was one of the founding families of Mt. Pleasant UMC. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Sturms. Surviving to cherish her memory is her son; Mike Sturms and wife, Laura of Winston-Salem, three grandchildren, Travis, Nikki and Shannon and two great-grandchildren, Leslie and Austin. A Graveside Service will be conducted 10:00 am Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Jeff Harlow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice/Pallative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Sturms family.
