Mrs. Barbara Crater Overby

Barbara Jean Crater Overby, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, died August 6, 2013 at her home in Advance, NC, after a short struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Forsyth County to Eugene Allen and Ora Bishop Crater. Her most passionate interest throughout her life was her family. She is survived by her children: Pamela Overby of Charlotte; Lisa Overby Robertson and husband, Steve, of Jackson, Wyoming; Randall Overby and wife, Iris, of Wagram. She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Randall Scott Overby and Morgan Cheyenne Overby, also of Wagram; her special sister, Nanette Spainhour and husband, Richard, of Clemmons; her special nieces, Gail Litton and husband, Dewey, of Richmond, VA, and Debbie Quibell Slayman of Vancouver, WA; her sister-in-law Doris Barney and husband, Gary, of Advance; her brother-in-law, Elton Chapman, of Nashville, TN. She is preceded in death by C. T. Overby, Jr., her treasured husband for 55 years. A funeral service will be held at Center Grove Baptist Church, 8200 Lasater Road, Clemmons, NC, on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM by Dr. Steve Corts, Dr. Mark Harris and Mr. Rusty Goff. The family will receive friends following the service in the church foyer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Barbara and C. T.
