Mrs. Annie Mae Brewer Coalson

Mrs. Annie Mae Brewer Coalson went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Yadkin County, October 1, 1918 to Melvin Monroe and Laura Stokes Vestal. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Avery Dewitt Brewer in 1965 and Edward Coalson in 1987 and by two brothers, Henry Clay Vestal and Elmo M. Vestal and by a grandson, Tony Tuttle. Annie Mae was a former employee of Indera Mills, a member of the Jonestown Senior Citizens Club, a founding member of Twin City Baptist Church and an active member of West Haven Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Harvey Clay Stanfield and wife, Shirley of Lexington; seven step-children, Jo Ann Bryant, Mary Faye Ramey, Donna Laster, John Richard Coalson, Billy Dale Coalson, Vickie Brooks, and Teresa Crouse; five grandchildren, Lynn Rutledge, Robin Mitchell, Tammy Stanfield, Harvey Clay Stanfield, Jr. and Avera Mae Swicegood; nine great grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Arie Wood, Ruth Vestal and Frances Sealy; and long-time friends Thurman and Lou Howell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Timothy Wolf, Rev. Doug Couch and Rev. David Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.The family would like to thank the staff of The Crest of Clemmons and of Springwood Care for their love and support.
