Mr. James 'Jimmy' Dwight Hedgecock

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. James 'Jimmy' Dwight Hedgecock, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Jimmy was born on April 10, 1946 in Rowan County to the late Pervie Junior and Lois Faye Harris Hedgecock. Jimmy was a loving husband, daddy and pawpaw who always put others first. Growing up on a farm, he appreciated hard work and carried that trait throughout his life. He served in the US Army, retired in 2003 from RJ Reynolds after 37 years of service and was a member of New Journey Fellowship Church. Jimmy loved loud cars and had a special interest in antique cars and tractor shows! Surviving are his wife, Joyce Anderson Hedgecock, of the home; three daughters, Teresa Ashley (Rick), Stacy Montgomery (Newell) and Tammy Hedgecock; three granddaughters, Taylor Hedgecock, Meaghan and Madelyn Montgomery; and one sister, Janet Weaver (Mike).A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at New Journey Fellowship Church with Pastor Tim Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 16, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
