Mr. Eugene Franklin Watson, 77, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Yadkin Co. on November 10, 1934 to the late Isaac Newton Watson Sr. and Lillie Belle Smoak Watson. Mr. Watson was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville where he was active as long as his health permitted. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Watson Gantt and Frances Watson Crater and three brothers, Cecil E. Watson, Isaac N. Watson Jr. and Bobby L. Watson. He is survived by a nephew, Frank Crater of Winston-Salem, a niece, Ruth Ann Greene and husband Jerry of King and two sisters-in-law, Nealie Watson of Pilot Mountain and Pauline Watson of King. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Center for all of the care and compassion. They would also like to thank the staff of Universal Health Care of King and Creekside Manor in Kernersville for the love and care that Eugene received for many years.
