Mr. Eldon Harry Giljames

Mr. Eldon Harry Giljames, 84, passed away early Thursday morning, September 29, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Ottawa, IL on June 26, 1927 to the late Roland Harry Giljames and Blanche Pike. He was a veteran of WWII. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He spent his career working as an engineer for AT&T. He was a long time member of Messiah Moravian Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane Larimer Giljames; son Steve Giljames, wife Julie and two grandsons, Owen and Drew; daughter, Beth Giljames Rogers, husband, Jim and grandson Christopher; daughter, Cindy Giljames and grandson Mac Carson. A celebration of the life service will be held 7:00PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Messiah Moravian Church with Rev. Truman Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Moravian Church, 1401 Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
