Mr. Bennette “Ben” Ray Williamson

Mr. Bennette ""Ben"" Ray Williamson, of Advance, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born November 28, 1935, to Thomas F. and Mary Southern Williamson. He was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School. After serving in the US Army he attended Forsyth Technical Community College. After working at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco company for 18 years, Ben served as manager and Vice President of Towne Jewelers until his retirement. A lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church, Ben was a strong witness to those he touched throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas F. Williamson, Phillip R. Williamson (Annette); and sisters Mary Alice Williamson and Barbara W. Pope (Richard). He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn Williamson; two children, Shelia Webb and Tracey Butner; two grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Reid; nephews Bennett Paul Williamson (Melanie), and Phillip R. Williamson (Pat); great nephews Tom Williamson (Deanna) and Jeremy Williamson (Sarah); great nieces Kim Stewart (James) and Kim Morris (Rodney); and sister-in-law Kathryn Williamson. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday December 26, 2012, at Salem Baptist Church, with Dr. Howard Wilburn and Rev. Floyd Boles officiating. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
