Mont McCartney

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Mont McCartney, 89, passed away surrounded by his loving family Friday October 3, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was born in Stubenville, Ohio, September 28, 1925 to the late Mont and Lucy Roadway McCartney. Mont was an avid Football and Baseball enthusiast.

Surviving are; his loving wife, Barbara Sillitoe McCartney, two daughters, Shirley (Jack) Skelton, and Debbie Holliday, two sons, Dave (Fran) McCartney and Brian McCartney, six grandchildren, Trish Bolding, Nicole Taylor, Charlie Holliday, Kevin Holliday, Cody McCartney, and Ryan McCartney and six Great Grandchildren; Chelsea, Paige, Kailey, Courtney, Aiden, Jailynn.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening October 7, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Phil Hulen officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be directed to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center at 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103.
