Monroe Charles Branch

Mr. Monroe Charles Branch, 92, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County on November 2, 1923 to the late Claudia Eleanor Stewart Branch and Frank Glenn Branch. Mr. Branch proudly served his country in the United States Army Medical Corp 219th General Hospital during World War II. He was a faithful member of Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church where he served as Lay Speaker and Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. He was also a member of the church choir and the United Methodist Men's Group. In addition to his parents, Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Moser Branch; sister, Gladys Elliot; and brother, Rev. Edward Branch. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Branch (Linda) and Richard Branch all of Germanton; two granddaughters, Crystal Farris (Matt) of Germanton and Kelly Willard (Mike) of Midway; three grandsons: Garth, Eric, and Drake Branch; great-grandson, Kevin Farris. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 27 at Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wesley McLeod officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 290 of King. To honor Monroe's wishes, there will be no formal visitation.
