Mitchell Fillmore Shore

Mr. Mitchell F. Shore, 97, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living in Clemmons, NC. Mr. Shore was born on May 29, 1918 to Sexton D. Shore and Minnie Haire Shore. He graduated from Courtney High School in Yadkinville, NC. He is a veteran of the Army where he served in WWII. Mr. Shore was a faithful member of Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and working with his tools in his basement workshop. Mitchell loved his family and friends at Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church very much. He will always be in our hearts. In addition to his parents, Mitchell is preceded in death by his wives, Treva L. Shore and Grace Whisenhunt Shore; three brothers, John Sherman Shore, Marshall Ray Shore, and Lansey Arlandus Shore; four sisters, Bertie Allgood, Grace Myers, Ina McKnight, and Ida Gough; and one son-in-law, Emmett Everhart. He is survived by two daughters, Pat Everhart of Winston-Salem, NC, and Jan (Jimmy) Conder of Clayton, NC; three grandsons, Larry Everhart of Winston-Salem, NC, Mike (Lani) Conder of Raleigh, NC, and David (Cara) Conder of Knightdale, NC; one step-son, Jerry Whisenhunt of Lewisville, NC; and two great granddaughters, Samantha and Addison Conder. A funeral service for Mr. Shore will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Cheryl Cottingham officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel New Eden Moravian Chruch, 3680 Old Lexington Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
