Mitch Venable

Mr. Mitch Venable, 50, passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, with family and friends at his side on July 27, 2010, completing a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born in Forsyth County on January 16, 1960 to Darrell and Glenda Venable. He was a graduate of High Point University and retired from RJR Tobacco Company after 30 years of service. He was also a faithful member of Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church where he served in many capacities during his membership. He is survived by his best friend and faithful wife of 28 years, Cheryl Venable, of the home; a daughter, Bethany Godwin (Steven) of Pfafftown; a son, Wesley of the home; his parents, Darrell and Glenda Venable; a brother, Brad (Jenny) Venable and a grandfather, Lindsay Vaden, all of Winston Salem. Also surviving are his parents-in-law, Shorty and Brenda Bennett and a brother-in-law, Steve, all of Germanton. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Chase; grandparents Harvel and Ida Venable and Inez Vaden. He also leaves behind many devoted friends, co-workers and extended family members who cherish his memory. Funeral services for Mitch will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church in Germanton with Pastor Gary Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 this evening July 29, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
