Missouri Francis Shelton

Mrs. Missouri Francis Shelton, 85 of Winston-Salem went gently home in the arms of our Savior August 4, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1923 in Bristol, TN, the daughter of the late Wiley and Anna Lee Taylor Dishner. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Twin City Chapter #60 of Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Francis, her second husband, John R. Shelton; her granddaughter, Melissa Ann Keech, two brothers, J. P. Dishner and Stanley Dishner and one sister, Pauline Dishner Grubbs. Survivors include two daughters, Lois Francis Lawson and husband, Sonny and Nancy Francis Bebeau of Winston-Salem; three granddaughters, Mechiele McCallum and husband Eric and Kristy Steelman and special friend Alex Templeton of Winston-Salem and Kelly Lewis and husband Jeff of Roanoak, VA; nine great grandchildren, Justin and Nathan Wills of WV, Trey Lewis of SC, Anna, Haley and Parker McCallum and Tristan and Justin Templeton of Winston-Salem, and Tyler Lewis of VA; two sisters, Helen Varzea of Winston-Salem and Elizabeth Cronan of Tennessee; four brothers, Cecil Dishner and wife, Betty, Charles Dishner and wife Brenda, Lester Dishner and wife Fay and Phillip Dishner of TN and one brother in law, Ralph Shelton and wife, Mavis of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jennings O-Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
